Dr. Annie Melinda Paz-Alberto, University Professor and the current Director of the Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) is one of recipients of the SEARCA Regional Professorial Chair Award for AY 2016-2017.
Dr. Paz-Alberto was the first recipient of SEARCA Regional Professorial Chair Grant here in CLSU. SEARCA Regional Professorial Chair was granted to give recognition to outstanding Southeast Asian experts in the academe who have championed Inclusive and Sustainable Agricultural and Rural Development (ISARD) in Southeast Asia. The study areas include, but are not limited to, social sciences, marine and fishery sciences, environmental sciences, economics, and rural development-oriented fields.
As a grantee, Dr. Paz-Alberto delivered a professorial chair lecture on Phytoremediation: A Green Technology To Remove Pollutants For Soil and Water Conservation last October 7, 2016 at Climate Change Center Amphitheater, Institute for Climate change and Environmental Management (ICCEM), CLSU, Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija. The lecture was attended by 156 students, faculty and staff from different colleges of the University.
During the said event, Dr. Annie Melinda Paz-Alberto was given the Certificate for the SEARCA Regional Professorial Chair Award by the CLSU President Dr. Tereso A. Abella in recognition of her contribution to academic excellence in Ecology and Physiology during AY 2016-2017 signed by the SEARCA Director, Dr. Gil C. Saguiguit Jr.
