As one of the major outputs of the project, the CLSU Phil-LiDAR 2 team, headed by Dr. Ronaldo T. Alberto and researchers such as Dan Charlie Joy Pangilinan, Miguelito F. Isip, Darling Corzon Salazar, together with the Municipal Agricultural Officers turned over an Agricultural Map to the Municipal Agricultural Office of the Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija.
The provision of an updated and detailed inventory of agricultural resources is one of the main objectives of the Agricultural Resources Extraction from Lidar Surveys, In line with this, the PARMap team will be conducting vulnerability assessment of agricultural areas prone to disasters.
The municipality of Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija which is prone to flooding was selected as the site of the survey. There were 11 barangays which were randomly selected, namely; Rajal Sur, Lourdes, Isla and Maliolio. Farmers from these barangays served as the team’s respondents during the interviews conducted. Survey results shows that the area was affected by flood and drought for the last 10 years.
